Martin Sensmeier is from the Tingit and Koyukon-Athabaskan tribes of Alaska. He was raised in a Tingit Coastal community in Southeast Alaska and grew up learning and participating in the traditions of his people, while carrying on the substinence lifestyle that has been sustained for thousands of years. He is an Ambassador for both the Native Wellness Institute where he advocates for wellness amongst Native people of all Nations as well as the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

During his high school he qualified as a welder and when he turned 21 he worked as a roughneck on the Doyon Rig drilling the North slope of Alaska. He also attended the University of Alaska for two years before coming to Los Angeles.

His recent credits include the independent feature films Lilin’s Brood, False Memory Syndrome and Taylor Sheridan’s Wind River opposite Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen.

Martin has a multi-episode arc on J.J. Abram’s futuristic HBO series Westworld.

This fall he joins Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt as the Warrior Red Harvest in Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven for Sony/MGM.
